On October 4, 2011, three care givers employed by Continuing Life Communities filed a class action lawsuit against their employer for failure to provide meal and rest periods. The case is brought on behalf of all non-exempt, hourly employees of Continuing Life Communities CHC, L.L.C. Plaintiffs contend that were denied timely and complete meal and rest periods.
Plaintiffs seek an injunction prohibiting Continuing Life Communities from denying statutorily mandated meal periods in a timely manner for all hourly employees. They further seek restitution of unpaid wages on their own behalf as well as on behalf of all other similarly situated employees in California.
