Federal Law Prohibits Text Spam

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) was enacted to help eliminate companies' ability to harass consumers with unwanted text messages. The TCPA bans unsolicited text messages, also referred to as "wireless spam," "sms spam," "text spam," and "mobile phone spam." Under the TCPA, consumers who receive unsolicited texts are entitled to receive monetary compensation.
